Microsoft patch accidentally reveals rootkit malware and gives blue screen of death

One of Microsoft’s recent patches security Bulletin MS10-015 was apparently causing a blue screen of death (BSOD) in many people’s computers. The patch was to prevent privilege escalations. Upon investigation, Microsoft discovered that the BSOD was actually caused by a nasty rootkit which became unstable after the the patch was installed. What did Microsoft do? .. They stopped distributing the update. Its obviously more important to maintain your company reputation than to allow 1000s of users to be infected by malware.
